As a non-profit organization, Mercy Steps Program relies on the generosity of donors to ensure that all our services and resources remain accessible and free of charge to those who need them most. We are deeply committed to supporting women in rural Kenya who are battling or recovering from cancer, walking alongside them with care, dignity, and hope.

There are several meaningful ways you can support our cancer program:

Donate your Mastectomy Items

Through our “Gift – Receive – Rewear” initiative, we invite women from all over the world to give a second life to mastectomy bras and breast prostheses. This simple yet powerful act of kindness has made a significant difference for many women who cannot afford these essential items.

We accept both new and gently used breast prostheses and mastectomy bras. Donations can be sent directly to us or dropped off at designated collection points in your country. Each item is carefully redistributed to women in need in rural Kenya, restoring not only physical comfort but also confidence and dignity.

Donate your Wig

Hair loss due to chemotherapy can be a deeply emotional experience. We collect wigs of all types and colours to support women going through treatment. When needed, wigs are carefully adapted, such as dyeing lighter shades, to ensure they are suitable and culturally appropriate for the recipients.

Your donation helps restore a sense of identity, confidence, dignity, and normalcy during a challenging time.

Donate your time

Mercy Steps Program works in collaboration with tour partners to offer visitors a meaningful opportunity to connect with local communities. If you are traveling to Kenya and have time in your itinerary, we encourage compassion healers and health workers to spend a day with us.

This experience allows for genuine human connection, cultural exchange, and a deeper understanding of the lives and resilience of the communities we serve.

Donate Equipment

We welcome donations of medical and laboratory equipment to support healthcare services in Kenya. Your contribution plays a vital role in strengthening local health facilities and improving access to care for women in need.

In addition, there is a growing need for mobility-support items for patients whose mobility is limited due to illness, treatment, or recovery. Access to these items can greatly improve the quality of life, restore independence, and ease the daily challenges.

We gratefully accept mobility-related donations such as:

Wheelchairs
Crutches
Walking frames (walkers)
Walking sticks (canes)
Orthopedic supports and braces

These items provide comfort, dignity, and freedom of movement, allowing patients to carry out daily activities they can with greater ease and confidence.

Your support in donating equipment, whether medical or mobility-related, helps us bring practical relief and renewed hope to those who need it most.

Donate monetary funds

Financial contributions enable us to sustain and grow our programs, ensuring that women receive continuous care, support, and dignity throughout their cancer journey. Every donation, regardless of size, directly strengthens essential services within our cancer care initiatives.

Mobile screening for cervical cancer
Free screenings, including mammograms, for women in need
Health education and awareness programs
Transport to and from treatment facilities
Chemotherapy and radiotherapy support

Transportation of donated goods from Switzerland and Germany to Kenya
Local distribution of supplies to rural communities
Transport and coordination for compassion workers on the ground
