By promoting book culture in rural Kenya, Mercy Steps Children program aims to build empowerment of the African child. We accept all types of donations, from books, stationery, school bags, school uniforms, and even Financial support.

Books

Please help shape future generations. Empower a kid you don`t know by donating the books you do no not need anymore. In case you want to make room for new things, in case your children have outgrown their story books, you do not need to throw them away. We will help rehouse your library of new, old, and also unwanted English-written books in a local school in Kenya. We collect all books, curricula and even non-curriculum.

Stationary

Public school funding in Kenya is very low and that is one of the reasons why the schools are not able to provide stationery for their students. Something as small as a pencil is very essential but in many cases unaffordable. That is why Mercy Steps Program has made it a mission to offer this as a gift to the pupils and students who cannot afford Pencils, pens(ballpoint), Scales, geometry boxes, notebooks, crayons, reusable masks, and of course school bags/ Rücksacks.

School Uniform

School Uniform is not only a great equaliser but also gives a child a sense of belonging and helps them fit in well despite their background. Be the one to give a child this smart start in life. This includes shorts, trousers, skirts, blouses, shirts, pullovers, socks, trainers, and shoes. Please note that the Bata shoe company makes long-lasting school shoes and most schools recommend them.

Monetary Donations

Transport

Transport for donations donated outside of Kenya goes deep into the pocket. Book transport costs the most but it’s worth every penny spent. That’s one reason why we need we need the monetary support

School fees

School fees for needy children at the secondary and college level are very expensive and most parents can’t afford to put their kids even through a vocational college. Mercy steps children’s program supports the children we can to secondary and makes sure these kids get a profession they can earn a living in.

Computers

Help us build a world where every child has access to technology. Mercy steps program accepts New and refurbished Clean computers laptops and pads. We also refurbish the computers ourselves and give them a new life. We give them to schools that already don’t have IT on the curriculum. We have stations in many parts of the world where you can send your donated computer and it will reach the intended child.
